Before and After

On both pictures is a before and then after. Photoshop was only used to brighten, or create a slightly better contrast. This is perfectly acceptable use of the program because it was used as enhancement, rather than alteration.

Composition Techniques

Fill the Frame

Fil the frame typicaly has all the photo with something related, but with a distinct focal point. Here there is a cliff overhang and trees closer up whitch are related the the framed focal point of the watter fall.
Use Lines Effectivly

Leading lines are suposed to leadyour eye to the focal point of the picture. Here the hiker is accebted by the starkness of his surrounding and accented by the ridge line. An extra lead toward the hiker is his trail of footpints behind him.
 Rule of Thirds
The rule of thirds is to create a focal point slightly off center both horozantly and verticly. Here the moon is of to the right and slightly down. Leading your eye to the moon is the row of building lights below, and the palm tree to the left.

Photo Analysis

This picture shows an  inuminated pair of yellow flowers, with their shadows on the leaves slightly below them. The photo is ment to be beautiful and elegant in its simplicity, and does just that. The flowers are ment to be noticed, this being achieved by the rest of the photo being shadowed.
Drwan imediatly to the bright red of the leaves, you then notice that that particular tree is seperate frome all the others behond the fence. looking along the fence and into the distance, you can see thiswis the only tree on this side of the fence. This picture conveys a sence of individuality, the willingness to be different and stand out.
Your attention is imideatly directed to the single beam of light streaming through the only break in the clouds. The simplicity of the picture makes the few detalis subltly obvious, making it captivating. This is the kind of photograph that is taken as seen rather than planed, you can't really plant to have evereything set just so when waiting for the sky.
What grabs my attention here is the reflection on the water. The reflection is a bit darker, but also far more colourful than the origional buildings, the lights blending together and streaking out. Its an all encompasing type of photo, trying to capture the city's beauty from an outside perspective.
Focus on the spiders web creates a kind of mystic fealing combined with the way it is ilumimated from behind. This background is hazed out by the light, and the fore ground is highly defined. The crazy pattern of the web creats its own natural beauty.
